Revision of ASME Y14.8M-1989. 71p This Code covers the design, fabrication, installation, and testing of piping systems for fuel gases such as natural gas, manufactured gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)-air mixtures above the upper combustible limit, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the gaseous phase, or mixtures of these gases.
The Code for Pressure Piping sets forth engineering requirements deemed necessary for safe design and construction of piping systems. While safety is the basic consideration of this Code, this factor alone will not necessarily govern the final specificationsfo r any pressure piping system. The designer is cautioned that the Code is not a design handbook. The Code does not do away with the need for the engineer or competent engineering judgment.
