The language known variously as Miji, Dhammai [=Dmay] and Sajolang is spoken in the West and East Kameng and Lower Subansiri districts of Arunachal Pradesh, Northeast India. The Miji call themselves Dmay, but this name is not in common use and official publications use composites such as Sajolang (Miji). Miji will be used in the present paper as it is the most most widely recognised term.
