Farnborough, UK: Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, 2002. — 14 p.The uncertainties of future scenarios require us to carefully investigate the real problems and issues to be addressed in modelling and analysis of Command and Control. This problem formulation process then needs to be supported by new tools for problem solution. In consequence, a new generation of Command and Control center constructive simulation models of conflict is being developed by Dstl in the UK. These have a coherent approach to the representation of Command and Control which is described in the paper. This baseline approach is then complemented by mathematical models of such processes ( metamodels ) which give insight into the likely modes of emergent behavior.
