The present study is the result of the research on the dialect spoken in the Sāri district of Māzandarān province in Iran.
The research was mainly carried out in Japan from January to May of 1995, with cooperation of Mr. and Mrs. Pāshā'i, who had visited in Japan as a visiting professor of Institute for the Study of Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa (ILCAA) of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. The supplementary research was realized in Iran in the summer of the same year, through the overseas research project of ILCAA, Study of Migration and Symbiotic Systems in Islamic World (Project No.06041034) sponsored by the Ministry of Education of Japan.
