Chatswood: Modern Indonesian Publications, 1984. — XIV, 208 p.
Learn Indonesian, though intended principally for use in the junior forms of secondary schools, has proved to be the answer to the problem of many adults who wish to obtain a working knowledge of modern Indonesian, both spoken and written, without becoming too deeply involved in the study of grammar.
With this in mind, we have added, in this 8th edition, a variety of material for the traveller: a handy guide for visitors, a selection of '"instant" Indonesian for those who do not have time for more detailed study, and a number of supplementary dialogues useful in various everyday situations. For interest, we have included a large number of photos and some anecdotes.
The authors are both teachers with many years of experience in teaching foreign languages, at both secondary and tertiary level, in Australia, Europe and South-East Asia. This book is the product of their joint experience and provides a practical example of gotong-royong (cooperation) between Indonesia and Australia.
