SHSAT (Specialized High Schools Admissions Test) is an exam administered by the New York City Department of Education, taken in October by students in grades 8 or 9 who wish to apply to New York City’s Specialized High Schools. The exam consists of two parts — English Language Arts and Mathematics — and is taken within 3 hour time limit.
The format of SHAT test has changed in October 2017 (for example, ELA part no longer has logic section, there are now 57 questions in each part, and so on). This file includes Kaplan test preparation book with two practice tests, as well as four additional tests by Kaplan. All tests reflect the new 2017-2018 test format.
