A lesson consists of:ObjectivesThis sets forth the goals to be achieved by the student once he has completed the lesson( what the student will be able to recognize and use in Spanish at the end of the unit cycle.Spanish DialogueThe Dialogues (also the Narratives) are based on English dialogues originally written by SEAL Team 4 personnel. Each dialogue introduces the student to a realistic scenario which purportedly takes place in a Spanish-speaking country. The title indicates the subject the student is going to be exposed to. For instance Lesson 7, "Draeger Closed-Circuit SCUBA,• provides the student with the basic framework to conduct simple conversations in Spanish on this type of equipment and its assembly.English DialogueThis is the translation of the Spanish Dialogue, provided to insure that the student has grasped the meaning of the Spanish. The English is idiomatic, not literal. The instructor should be able to assist the student if a question arises concerning the text.VocabularyEach lesson contains a listing of the new Spanish words used in the unit with the English translations. The lexical items are oriented to Naval Special Warfare equipment, techniques and training. The entries selected should be understood by all SEAL personnel Spanish counterparts.
