A Modem Course in Business English is a course for intermedíate adult learners of English who take a practical interest in уconomiс affaire. It deals with topics that arise in everyday intelligent conversation — money, commerce and industry, the EEC, and so on — and is not intended for advanced specialiste. The component parts of the course are: a Course Manual, a Student's Classbook, a supplementary book of Programmed Units and a set of tapes/ cassettes.
The course assumes that students have already completed a general beginners course and aims both to act as a bridge between this and advanced specialist courses such as English for Business, and to provide as much variety of different kinds of English as possible.
This second edition has been completely revised, brought up-to-date and expanded. New features include an entirely rewritten set of language laboratory tapes with contextualized drills and real-life speech recordings, and extensivo language study and background information notes.
