Researchers in many fields have acknowledged that in the modern age of computers, randomization tests frequently will be the tests of choice. In this edition, additional factorial designs are introduced and completely randomized factorial and randomized block designs are covered in separate chapters, Chapters 6 and 7, to clarify the distinction between two basically different factorial designs. Chapters 13 and 14 are entirely new and their primary function is to show how, with no additional assumptions, randomization tests can test “null” hypotheses of specified amounts or types of treatment effect, not just the traditional null hypothesis of no effect.
