Chrau (Vietnamese Chơ Ro) belongs to the South Bahnaric branch of the Mon-Khmer language family (Austro-Asiatic macro-family). It is closely related to Stieng, Mnong and Kơho. Chrau is spoken by ca. 27.000 people (2009) in several provinces of south Vietnam.
