Buchanan T. Jump! Skydiving Made Fun and Easy
New York: McGraw-Hill. 2003. – 237 p. If you are thinking about making a jump, you probably have a ton of questions. This book is designed to provide answers. It should give you an overview of skydiving, and a great background to help you find and evaluate skydiving schools in the United States. Although every school is unique, I’ve tried to focus on those things they have in common, and I offer enough information so that you can recognize the differences. This should help you to pick the school that is right for you. I’ve written this book so you can read it in several ways. First, it should be easy to read like a standard book, that is, cover to cover. You will find that each chapter builds on the material in previous chapters, and by the end you will have a complete understanding of skydiving, and how to go about finding a great school. If you don’t have time to read the entire book right away, try focusing on Chapter 1 for a general overview, then flip to Chapter 10 for assistance in selecting a skydiving school. Those two chapters should give you a quick idea of what skydiving instruction is all about, and help you to find a place to learn. When time allows, go back and read the other chapters for a more detailed understanding of the sport, and the skydiving community.
